Happy Top Ten Thursday!!
This week, I have compiled a list of some great movies that will get you in the Halloween spirit! I have actually made 2 lists - movies that are not so scary and movies that probably make you crap your pants. I'm not really a scary movie kind of person, I get very anxious and hate the feeling. Although, I have seen 6/10 of the scary ones on my list. I think for this Halloween I may attempt to complete the list, just for nightmares sake.

  2. Ghostbusters
  3. Halloweentown series

Halloween bat craft

This Friday, I will be going to Michael's school to lead his 1st grade class in a Halloween craft (right up my alley, right?). I found several adorable crafts for elementary aged kids and I think the 2 of us will definitely be doing some of the ones I have found. This is the craft I found that I think will be perfect for Michael and his class to do! The bat is adorable, with the exception of that flower...what the heck is that about? You can print out the template in either color or black and white, which I think black and white would allow them to get more creative with. I think his class will do a great job with this project and I'm excited to do it! To make your own bat: click here.

Quarter of a century

The 25th birthday is a major milestone for a young adult...and I've reached it!! Seriously, time flies by so fast! When did I get so old?? In honor of my major milestone, I wanted to share with you a few fun birthday cakes I found online made for a 25 year old!
Being that it's Favorite Things Tuesday, I figured it was fair to share with you my favorite type of birthday cake. I don't really like cake, with the exception of red velvet cake, homemade, or Publix cake (I know, I'm a freak). I also like cheesecake and cookie cake, but I don't classify those really as "cakes." My favorite birthday cake, hands down, would have to be ice cream cake. I love Dairy Queen's ice cream cake especially!
Happy Favorite Things Tuesday and Happy Birthday to me!!

Halloween buys

There are some really cute various items for your home for Halloween. I would love to buy everything that is out there, but sadly this holiday goes by so quickly. I would advise buying Fall-like items so that you can keep it out until Thanksgiving. Nonetheless, here are some adorable buys for Halloween that I'm tempted to buy myself.

Bath & Body Works has some great products and scents for Halloween/Fall. I love the pumpkin hand soap, so cute and it's on display in my bathroom! I'm also pretty much in love with the fact that that shower poof is a spider. The haunted house luminary is pretty fantastic too!
Yankee Candle has some great finds too! They have an assortment of votive and tea light holders with "pumpkin pals." I love the jar holder with the jolly pumpkins! The jar shade is also great because you can use a candle you already have and add a little touch of Halloween with ease.
There are some fabulous Halloween pillow shams out there. I was browsing and loved this one on Etsy.
How funny is this witches dancing pillow sham that I found through Traditions??
I'll be on the hunt for some more great Halloween finds!!

Halloween doilies

I love browsing the internet and finding cool things on accident. I was looking for some Halloween ideas for future posts (get ready, there are some fun ones coming your way!!) and stumbled upon these. I love everything vintage, so I found these to be especially unique. They are doilies and would look oh so cute on my future dining room table. Did I mention that I LOVE Halloween??

Halloween baking

I love to bake and found some really awesome ideas for Halloween baking! There are lots of fun molds out there, here's a few bakeware items I thought were just too cut to keep to myself! These are all available at Wilton.
Happy Baking!!

Beauty is pain

When it comes to being a fashionista, heels are the key to looking great! Nothing beats a gorgeous pair of shoes, that is except for pain. If you wear heels for a long period of time, you know exactly what I mean. While the American Podiatric Medical Association suggests that you toss any shoes that cause you discomfort, I'm sure that the stylish person you are deems this an impossibility. Here are some tips that will hopefully help your feet feel a little bit more comfortable.

1. Buy the right size. A no brainer right? But seriously, when is the last time you've been measured for a shoe? I probably haven't been since I was a kid! Podiatrists say that our feet can grow larger as we age, as it can during pregnancy. So, it is pretty important to know what size shoe you are. Tip: make sure that there's a thumbs-width between your longest toe and the shoe tip to give your toes room to move. For heels, this means you may need to go up a size for a more comfortable fit.

2. Stick to round toes. As opposed to pointy-toed shoes which makes your toes crunch up, the rounded toe allows for your toes to lie flat and spread out naturally.

3. Watch the width. Some of the time, the toes aren't the problem, it's the width. Many fashion shoes come in a standard medium width. If you have wide feet, this simply will not do. If you find a pair of shoes that is to die for, ask if they come in a wide width. They probably won't, so you can usually take them to a shoemaker and they can stretch the shoes to widen the toe box, enhancing comfort.

4. Cushion! While most heels don't come with adequate cushioning on the balls of the foot, add an insert. They are available everywhere and WILL help!

5. Switch them up. Don't wear the same shoes everyday, alternate. Switch between heels and flats to maintain comfort. Although heels elongate your legs when you're wearing a skirt, they are less important when you are wearing trousers, so give feet a rest on those days.

6. Wider heel. Stilettos are gorgeous, but try wearing heels with a larger heel, or wedges.

7. Injections. I was watching on The Doctors the other day, and they were addressing this problem. In a day visit, they extracted fat from a woman's stomach and injected it into the balls of her feet, right under the toes. The natural fat provided the feet with the cushioning it needed. Watch the video below.

Tips for aching feet:
1. Soak your feet is Epson salt
2. Get a pedicure! What an excellent excuse, right??
3. Place a full water bottle on the ground and roll your foot back and forth

Hopefully this will help your feet to look and feet great!!

Blood pumping

I work out every weekday and have experimented with quite a broad spectrum of music to exercise to. Some that I thought would be perfect I ended up hating, while some I over looked turned out to be the best running songs. I have a great mix of tunes that I usually just put on and let play that have been working great for me lately. Listening to the same songs in the same order everyday can be a little boring, but these are the Top 10 songs that I find get my blood pumping and I haven't tired of yet.

1. 1st Period: The Queen and I - Gym Class Heroes. This song is first on my workout playlist and is a great warm up song.

2. The Line - Battles. This was on the Eclipse Soundtrack and is a great song. It starts off slow, but then builds. Once it gets to the fast part I feel like I'm in a video game, running from the fire balls.

3. B.O.B. - Outkast. Oldie, but a goodie. It's super fast and gets you wanting to run really fast.

4. Teddy Picker - Arctic Monkeys. I do love me some indie music and I love the beat of this song for cardio.

5. Toxic - Britney Spears. I love this song and the beat.

6. Outta Your Mind - Lil Jon & LMFAO. They did a hip hop routine to this song on So You Think You Can Dance. If you don't like songs that curse, I recommend downloading the edited version.

7. Church - T-Pain. This song gets my hips swaying for some reason. Good tempo for jogging.

8. We Run This - Missy Elliott. I love this song! I love the "Tonto" music, makes me want to do the freeze poses for "Tonto, jump on it..."

9. Do It Again - The Fire and Reason. Fun girl band song to do cardio, etc.

10. Sweet Disposition Remix - The Temper Trap. The original version of this song is really slow, but the remix isn't. This is a download must!

10 songs won't get you through an hour long workout, so here are some more good songs you can download:
11. Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes
12. She's Got The (Woo-Hoo) - Sugar Ray
13. Clap Your Hands - Sia
14. Fuego - Pitbull
15. Get Crazy - LMFAO
16. Imma Be - Black Eyed Peas
17. The New Workout Plan - Kayne West
18. Bang Bang - K'naan & Adam Levine
19. Ride to California - Paper Tongues
20. Percussion Gun - White Rabbits

Enjoy your workout! Happy Top Ten Thursday!

Magazine fiend

Reading is one of my favorite ways of escaping from the world. There really is nothing like the feeling of breaking open a new magazine. I usually save my magazine for the perfect moment. I get really excited when that moment finally comes, and I can sit and just read my new piece of material.

I read quite a few different magazines. I'm pretty dedicated to them and love learning new and interesting things. I especially love learning about fashion and what's going on with those celebrities. If you are looking for some great reading material, but don't know which ones are good, here is a list of the magazines I read on a normal basis.

1. Glamour. I love the combination of fashion, beauty, and advice that comes with this magazine. I am most devoted to this one, and read it every month.

2. Elle. There are some great fashion tips and articles of different sorts here.

3. People. I love celeb gossip, but the puzzler is probably my favorite part of this magazine. Read this one every week.

4. Cosmopolitan. Sure, this mag has a rep of being dirty, but it really has some great reads! They pretty much talk about everything that a woman would be interested in.

5. Allure. I love the beauty and hair advice and read this one on occasion.

6. Marie Claire. I read this on occasion, it has some great fashion and beauty ideas.

Most of their websites have great articles, etc. too! Happy reading!

Did the little piggy cry wee wee wee all the way home?

Happy Favorite Things Tuesday!!

Sometimes there's those commercials that just make you laugh every time you see it. No matter how many times you watch it, it is always funny. Geico has had some beyond terrible commercials in the past (stupid cavemen anyone??), but they have really turned it around recently. My favorite commercial that's out now is the little piggy one. The combination of the little piggy wee-ing at a high octave then speaking with a deep-ish voice, and the fact that the piggy is holding pinwheels gets me every time.

My favorite commercial of all time would have to the be the Starbucks commercial that was aired a few years ago. It was for the Double Shot Espresso, and was to the song "The Eye of the Tiger." It was magical. I sometimes watch it online just for kicks.

Enjoy my favorite commercials!!
